Dev Centre for Philosophical Studies
On the basis of the deed made by Dr. G.C. Dev and to translate his long cherished dream into a reality, the ‘Dev Centre for Philosophical Studies’ was established in the University of Dhaka in 1980 with the initiative of Professor Dr. Aminul Islam, former Chairman of the Department of Philosophy. The Bangla name of the Centre is ‘Govinda Dev Darsana Gabesana Kendra’.
Objectives of the Centre
To promote and advance researches on different aspects of philosophy with special emphasis on Humanism, Pragmatism, Moral Philosophy, Religion and Social Philosophy and to promote inter religious harmony, introduce scholarship/fellowship and arrange Memorial Lectures are the main objectives of the Centre.
